		The Yacht haven is easily reached by a fast ferry, which operates on the hour and half hour between Southampton and Cowes, taking only 20 minutes with a public walkway between the Town Quay and the Yacht Haven, while the car ferry to East Cowes takes under an hour. Southampton has excellent rail and road links to London or fly directly into Southampton International Airport. Less direct but alternative routes exist between Portsmouth to Ryde and Fishbourne and Lymington to Yarmouth. Southsea to Ryde is served by Hovercraft. There is no commerical air service to the island but private aircraft use Sandown or (when operational) Bembridge airports. A helicopter service operaters and is based in Cowes during major events.
		Swanwick Marina is situated on the river Hamble, Britain's most popular yachting river, and focus of the South Coast yachting scene. Its rural setting and sheltered location just below Bursledon Bridge make it a favourite marina for both locals and visiting yachtsmen. Its easy access from the M27/A27 and accessibility to the Solent make Swanwick Marina an ideal base for those participating in the many local regattas and events such as Cowes Week, Hamble Week, Round the Island and Bursledon regatta.
		Shamrock Quay is situated on the River Itchin just a few minutes away from Southampton city centre. M27 Eastbound - exit Junction 3 onto the M271. Follow signs to the 'Waterfront'. When you reach the traffic lights at Ocean village, carry straight on and follow the road until you come to a T-Junction, turn right and about 0.5 miles up that road you will pass Southampton Football Club. Bear right at the roundabout and after a further 0 5 miles by the Cooper's Arms you will see a signpost for Shamrock Quay. Turn right and the marina is 50 yars along on the right-hand side. M3 Southbound - exit Junction 14 onto the A33. Follow the signs to the 'Docks' and 'Old Waterfront' and then as above. M27 Westbound - exit Junction 7 onto the A334. Follow the signs to Southampton city centre. At the traffic lights after the bridge over the River Itchen, turn left onto Prince's street (the Meridian TV studios are on the right-hand side of the bridge). Continue along this road for about 0.5 miles and opposite the Cooper's Arms you will see a signpost for Shamrock Quay. Turn left and the marina is 50 yards alongon the right-hand side.
